Yugy LLC ("Yugy," "we," "us," or "our") operates an online marketplace connecting customers, planners, and hosts ("Customers") with independent service professionals ("Partners") for event services.
Partners include Photographers, Videographers, DJs, Caterers, Florists, Bartenders, Decorators, Bakers, Entertainment providers, Venues, and other event professionals. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our platform at yugy.us and related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, location, and profile details.
- Event details: event type, date, location, guest count, service preferences, and special requirements.
- Payment information: processed securely via our payment partner (Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
- Partner business information: business name, service category, service area, insurance details, portfolio content, licensing and certification documentation, and tax identification information.
- Communications: messages, reviews, and feedback sent through the Yugy platform.
- Identity verification: government-issued identification and background check authorization (Partners only).
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, search queries, clicks, and interaction patterns.
- Device information: browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
- Network data: IP address, referring URLs, and approximate geographic location.
- Cookies and tracking technologies: as described in our Cookie Policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Match Customers with relevant Partners across event categories.
- Process bookings, payments, and commission calculations.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, updates, and transactional communications.
- Verify Partner credentials, insurance, licensing, and background checks.
- Calculate and apply Trust Scores and performance metrics.
- Improve platform functionality, user experience, and service recommendations.
- Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain platform safety.
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate platform updates, policy changes, and (with consent) promotional materials.

We share information only as necessary for platform operations:
- Between Customers and Partners: to facilitate bookings (e.g., sharing event details with a booked Partner, sharing Partner contact information with a Customer upon booking confirmation).
- Payment processors: Stripe, for secure payment handling and commission disbursement.
- Background check providers: certified third-party providers for Partner verification.
- Analytics providers: aggregated, non-identifiable usage data for platform improvement.
- Legal and regulatory: when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate confidentiality protections.
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account closure, we retain data for a period necessary to comply with legal obligations (including tax and financial reporting), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years for tax and audit compliance. Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including: TLS encryption for data in transit; encryption at rest for sensitive data; secure hosting infrastructure (Supabase/Vercel); role-based access controls; regular security assessments; and incident response procedures. Partner background checks and identity verification are handled by certified third-party providers operating under strict data protection agreements. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- Request a portable copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
